Prismatic
Prismatic is a game about light and color mixing. As a kid, did you ever put your face REALLY close to a CRT TV? It’s generally considered a terrible idea to get your face that close to a CRT nowadays, so here’s a (safe) example from the public domain:
As a kid, this seriously fascinated me. What looked like a single color from a distance, actually turned out to be lots of small red, green, and blue dots. How could this be?! Before it would eventually be tought to me in my first art class, I learned that that these three primary colors could somehow blend together to make any color we can imagine.
People who use a computer for art or creative work are undoubtedly familiar with seeing red/green/blue information presented in hexidecimal format. I thought it would be cool to make a game where the player manipulates the red, green, and blue bits to mix colors in real time. Prismatic was created from this foundation.
Prismatic was made in Javascript/HTML5 using the Phaser game engine. It is a solo project, so I’m totally accountable for this mess :)
